Magical Readathon 2019 (Me in!)

This year I discovered readathons!

There- that’s about the tl;dr of this post.

My bad.

Anyway, so I open my twitter account to check for cobwebs and I stumble, literally stumble, across this tweet that talked about a Harry Potter themed readathon. Now, knowing me and my undying, slightly cringe-inducing love for anything Harry Potter, of course I had to check it out!

So, I do and it’s this amazingly constructed readathon by booktuber Book Roast with fancy PDFs and Excel sheets. So much kudos! Sincerely!

What you’ve got to do is choose a career from the magical world and you fulfil the prompts given under it. There are OWLs that you get to take in…April, I think it was and now, there are the NEWTs scheduled for August! (If only I could be this excited about my real exams…)

Anyway, I entered the OWLs readathon mid-way in April and chose Cursebreaker for a career- because Bill is the hottest Weasley. I rushed through my prompts until life managed to catch up with me and unfortunately, it went away with one book left unread. Now, in the anticipation for the NEWTs, I get to catch up with that leftover read and actually prepare the TBR- as in Advance- before August dawns.

Which is exactly what I did!

Because spreadsheets are cool!

My leftover read is Good Omens by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman for the prompt of a book with more than one author. It’s hilarious and the only reason I haven’t finished it yet is because then it would be finished. And I would be sad.

My TBR for the month of August is impressive, even if I do say so myself. But, that’s because my eye is immediately drawn to the rectangle that says Lord of the Rings and I can already see its red cover and feel its heaviness and wonder how on earth I could read anything else in a month that’s got a Tolkien in it.

But, fingers crossed and hopefully, next time you see me, I’ll be Dr. Boo, MD, Cursebreaker.

Cheers!
